Washington, D.C. – Black Techno Matters releases their eighth digital EP, Closing by techno powerhouse Stukes, DC’s next rising star. The title track is an artistic ode to the tri-state area known as the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia), and features a sample of the “doors closing” warning, recorded on the Metro’s Yellow Line. Its high energy percussion and ethereal vocal pads gives the mundane commute a new life through sound and experience. “34” takes us deep into a dark tunnel of strange metallic screeches mixed with reverberating melodic swells. Rounding out the EP is a mysterious and mangled drone remix by Marshall Willis, Stuke’s ambient alter ego, and finally a video edit of “Closing” which hints at visuals to soon to come.
